Breaking Cocoon Project
“Break Cocoon Project” was initiated on July 28 2018 by Youren Foundation, targeting at women with disabilities and female family members affected by disability from rural and remote areas. It is an intersection of Disability and Gender, carrying forward the DAWS Network nurtured by the OPO. “Break Cocoon Project” has expanded from training individuals to incubating and nurturing and mentoring of professional development of charity organizations founded or run by people with organizations.
Breaking indicates the action, breakthrough and rebirth process from individuals to organizations. Cacoon implies the segregation, wrapping and constraints that restricts persons and organizations. Breaking Cacoon awaits the next person with disability from walking alone to become a butterfly walking with the community.
